In the summer of 2006 Mordant Music were approached by Boosey & Hawkes to contribute to a library album of 'drone' based pieces....these 40 off-cuts of nascent synthetic scree reflect this association via the results of exhaustive tests undertaken across the industrial estates of Britain....this is the sound of myriad life forms thriving in the otherwise stagnant dead pools of commerce....the distorted sonic malaise lying dormant in the air conditioning unit of a Kent logistics firm....the gaseous chime of an unchecked bacteria breeding in the foyer of a plastics division in Hull....the viral hum seeping from behind the admin office radiator in a proprietary grease manufacturers near the Pennines.... This is 'Carrion Squared', the noxious unformed unwarranted harvest of the corvid's collision with the business park hawk, the fruits of a discarded carcass....MM threatens to envelop.... |

Back in the heady fauxdieaval days of 2005 MM unwisely presented 'The Tower - Parts I-VII' (seven movements of mock-Tudor menace which failed to trouble a cellbound Burzum) to bemused spores awaiting another MM006 perhaps, 'The Tower' in question being the climbing variant in N16, cunningly photographed to look 'Bavarian'.... This installment sees Admiral Greyscale arrive with New Forest ponies - handpicked by Jack Hargreaves - in an attempt at liberating both Lord Klattr & Baron Mordant from their opiated incarceration in this synaesthetic sarcophagii....sporting casual chainmail however is no guarantee of a near mint pressing for home without expecting 'slight marks' along the way....will there be a final escape from this dank, volatile Dibnah or is it merely a sedant allegory to hard drive enslavement beamed through a musty troll?....the MMind toggles.... |
