Thanet AKA Mr. Maxted washes up ohm the Kentish shores with a clipper full of exotic audio tea chests - date & origin unknown...when did he first set psychic sail?..the tidal flow is unpredictable and the wash intensely saline...receiving calls from where?..BT cut him off years ago...here he rests then - a faceless beachcomber with barnacled talons fused to the keys in a sunken village with a foaming anchorage and MIDI scurvy...cut adrift, adrift cut...BM

Six errant emissions following ohm from MM037...Autre Ne Veut's 'Soldier', from his debut onOlde English Spelling Bee, gets non-plussed into two segments by MM who then attempt to locate themselves via 'ASDIC'...Ekoplekz opens his sullied analog lock gates to sluice two of his jaundiced orphans...Leamington spore Sii invites some reflective parquet action and Some Truths end the show in a dazzling finale of valve tweakage...all o'er the shoppe...BM

Estimable Bristolian Ekoplekz is patently half-man, half-pedal...he dredges the Severn for sunken Russian synths at ebb-tide & sports questing lapels...plumes of his teased notes tumble from the dead pipes of nearby Fountain Square instead of water...MM proudly presents 33 EZ emissions on 2xC60s housed in a Barratt home of a box...therein lies a dearth of superlative & previously unheard electronic dialect devoid of software poisoning...these twitching asps have been sluiced thru labyrinthine jack relays for your Le Mesurier...radiography distilled...I believe it may actually be possible to imbibe this sound, such is its potent form...BM

MM is o'er the moon in welcoming Vindicatrix properly to the fold by announcing the release of his long player 'Die Alten Bösen Lieder'...Vx recently manifested with 'Private Places' on MM026/MM030 in reMMix & original form courtesy of Shackleton & Baron M...he is a veritable troubadour who utilizes both the reverbed suitcase & damp palimpsest to regale his fibrous tales...the tuba also squeezes in ohm the act...roughly translated as 'The Old Wicked Songs', the album spans a three-track 12" & eight-track cdr with unique wet-cobbled aplomb...Vx creates a tangible environment on his refracted pilgrimage thru pop's outer-lying environs...there's a 'letting go' to his work that enhances the well-heeled sonic gravel crunching on show...I recoMMend everything that seeps from the Nesst but this project in particular deserves a high frequency classical fanfare...Vx's treated brass & woodwind ebb from the IBM like nothing Elst...four to the spore...BM

Mordant Music drag a second albuMM in earnest from 2009's ruddy pancreas - this time for choral spores one & all...Baron Mordant presents 'SyMptoMs' as a standalone audio bollard in a field of flatly rejected flax...a symptom of itself in many ways this albuMM taps into the verbal hinterland of deranged solo sessions prised from Cable Hut in Abermawr, an injured hotel room in Bali & the skewed Wood Green triangulation...a dolmen here, a punctured football there...Delta coffee & no signal...these thirteen MoMents cavort in the realm known as the present & are part of an allegory that has yet to coMMence...wrong trees can get barked at for the right reasons...'SyMptoMs' rides a fetid larynx and the Baron trusts that what initially turned him off eventually turns you ohm...listen to it beside yourself...BM

June 2008
Lord Klattr & Baron Mordant smelt their previously imagined concrete forest dystopia on this final installment of 'The Tower' series into four gelatin club hoofprints...culled from the MeMbranous fibres of the two previous albums, parts I-XVIII have been dug up from respective hard drives and smothered in low-end alchemy...from its original inception 'The Tower' project has lived somewhat of a 'black metal' lie insomuch that the music had been produced by two questing Liverpool & Derby fans who peddled secondhand vinyl at the Music & Video Exchanges in cut-price TK Maxx trainers...the cover image was not some dank Bavarian castle but a former water tower in Stoke Newington now used for poncing & climbing - hardly the stuff of a blazing Fantoft...these four final death throes emanate musically from somewhere closer to home and dovetail the intended continuity to rest...the trajectory was always distorted...Lord Klattr (Alan James) has sensibly retired to Melbourne in his 'Subway' (Soul Jazz) guise and Baron Mordant whiles away the hours feebly convincing himself of Mordant Music's relevance in today's digital realm or indeed any other...buy this hollow vessel, daub corpse paint on a passer-by and join them for the last spannered waltz in 'The Tower' - ever...BM

Mordant Music present a chronological coMpendiuM comprising all the Shackleton-related releases, a clutch of previously disabled titles including his voluble 'El Din (part two)' & MM's 'Marston Moor', aswell as the recent etched 10" 'The Hauntological Song' ...this sullied selection bookends a swill of Shackleton activity that coMMenced with his deft inaugural 'Stalker' 7" right through to the signature bass morass of the dual mix of Vindicatrix's 'Private Places' with MM...Shackleton cut his dubplate teeth at Mordant Music and subsequently gnashed his way through the low-end arena with Skull Disco and a myriad swollen live shows...he's also prone to losing the odd pushbike...Baron Mordant, who occasionally falls from the loft, has come off the bench once in a while to duel with Shackleton's rattle...tracks like 'Olde Wobbly' & 'Hummdrumm' have pursued a convex path that has attempted to draw ears away from a sometimes suffocating MMailer...win or lose MM never lose...a bludgeoning fanfare goes out to Sam for remaining Shackleton o'er the years and providing the bones... Hot on the peels of MM024 Mordant Music spew yet another double-edged platter for the empty dancefloors of septic isles worldwide...the planned 10" expanded overnight and manifested as a 12" by dawn...under the right conditions it should continue to grow indefinitely...on the 'A' Mordant Music unfurl '24 Million Or Sell Neverland' ...this ode to Mr. Jackson's well-documented fiscal trials & tribulations manifests as voices in his head which careen around on the Neverland rave carousel to a demented break & bass rhythm flux...over on the 'AA' bauxite bard Vindicatrix gets baptized in the waters of a dual Shackleton & Mordant Music remix which leaks rivulets of sinister prose and bass all over the shop...this is an introduction into the world of Vindicatrix's mentalist backwaters that should see a full artist album in 2009...with a third installment of this current series being honed in the Nesst and a limited re-press of MM014 it would seem that MM are gearing up to smother the mother before 2008 rusts shut

August 2008 'Lives & Privacy (94-89)' brings together nine archive minimal synth tracks from the vaults of Roehampton's feral analog spectre Mr Maxted...residing somewhere in the sullied vein of early Portion Control/Severed Heads, these late eighties/early nineties tape emissions have only just seen the light of day...the deft lilting lines of 'Consequence' and 'People I Know' really hit the spot here in the Nesst and that's why MM decided to spank the vinyl Jodrell again...this album is full of depth, mood and mirth and we urge you to snap the fucker up before Scandinavia gets wind of it...

Back in the heady fauxdieaval days of 2005 MM unwisely presented 'The Tower - Parts I-VII' (seven movements of mock-Tudor menace which failed to trouble a cellbound Burzum) to bemused spores awaiting another MM006 perhaps, 'The Tower' in question being the climbing variant in N16, cunningly photographed to look 'Bavarian'...this installment sees Admiral Greyscale arrive with New Forest ponies - handpicked by Jack Hargreaves - in an attempt at liberating both Lord Klattr & Baron Mordant from their opiated incarceration in this synaesthetic sarcophagii....sporting casual chainmail however is no guarantee of a near mint pressing for home without expecting 'slight marks' along the way....will there be a final escape from this dank, volatile Dibnah or is it merely a sedant allegory to hard drive enslavement beamed through a musty troll?....the MMind toggles....
